The REVOLUTION continues!

I am proud to announce the 2nd phase of the REVOLUTION workshop. I am also super stoked that Texas super star Fred Egan will be joining us! His imagery is as big as the state he calls home, and he's challenged me to a "walk-off" - you won't want to miss it! :)

Check back soon for more details!

Our Hotel

If you're still looking for a hotel, like Jason said, you can usually get pretty good deals on Priceline.com.

We'll be staying at the Hudson which is in the "Upper Midtown - Central Park South" area. If you bid on Priceline and hope to stay at the Hudson as well, make sure you only check the "Upper Midtown - Central Park South" box.

We'll be sending out en email with more workshop details and a schedule in the next few days.

Hotel Recommendations

Jason here:

I have had a few requests for hotel suggestions, so I'll do my best to help out here....

Hotel rooms in NYC are always at a premium, and of course October is a peak time to visit. On the good side there are TONS of Hotels to choose from. :)

Over the last few years I have had very good results with Priceline.com, with myself and with friends coming into town. When choosing an area, go with "Midtown West" - that will put you within walking distance to my studio, or at worst case a cab ride for 8 bucks.

With plenty of time left between now and October, you have lots of time to bid! So do yourself a favor and "name your own price". Go with a hotel that's 3 stars or higher and you'll have a nice hotel.

The other option (and the one the REVOLUTION crew is looking at) is to stay outside the city. Specifically, Jersey City, NJ - there are 2 - three star hotels in Jersey City, NJ, and both are very nice. They have nice size rooms and it's a cinch getting to and from the city via the PATH train, which is about a 20 minute ride.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have! If you feel like splurging I can highly recommend these hotels:

Any of the W hotels All of them are about a 10 dollar cab ride away and all are in great locations.

The Maritime Hotel - This is one of the hottest in NY right now.

Hotel Gansevoort- Amazing hotel.

Four Points Sheraton is also very nice -

I'll add more, and let you know where we'll be staying!

A few people have inquired about the workshop schedule details. Here’s a brief overview:

Sunday night, 10/14 (optional) Get together at my studio for a casual mixer, we don’t need much of an excuse for a party. :)

Days 1 and 2: Monday, 10/15 and Tuesday, 10/16 These are the shooting sessions. Each day will consist of 3 shoots – morning, afternoon, and evening (night shoots) sessions. They will be looooonnnng days. ,Bring your running shoes - we’re gonna cover a lot of ground!

Day 3 Wednesday, 10/17 DJ will be giving a presentation to all workshop participants. Alternatively, participants can sign up for portfolio review with TJ, C+L or myself.

Day 3 evening: REVOLUTION party! As in last year’s pre – Photo Expo party: apple martinis will be flowing and welcoming everyone to NYC!

I’ll be following up soon with some of the cool locations where we’ll be shooting.

...a few questions answered.

Jason here:

Wow - what a crazy few weeks it's been for all of us! We have had such an amazing response from the announcment of the shooting sessions. I want to thank everyone who had sent some "love" our way over the last week! We are so fortunate to be part of such an amazing group of friends and peers!

On top of keeping busy with preparation for the first shooting sessions, we are also busy shooting weddings because well, that's what we love to do. I was fortunate to spend last weekend with both TJ and C+L helping them with some CRAZY weddings. I'll post some fun images from the weekend soon. What a crazy trip - 8,400 miles in 4 days. :)

Anyway - I wanted to take a minute to answer a few questions people have been asking:

1) Yes - TJ is single. :)

3) There is a $250 discount for all OSP and DWF members. Enter code OSP or DWF when registering.

2) Is there a discount for couples?

Yes! Couples will receive a 50 percent discount on the second participant, but the OSP/DWF discount only applies for the first registration. Email us for the code.

2) Do we need any interns or helpers?

Thank you everyone who has asked. We are all set in this department.

Welcome to the blog!

Welcome to the REVOLUTION blog! I want to take a minute in our first post to say thanks to a few people.

First of all thanks to BIG Folio for not only another awesome website, but this blog as well! As many of you know the BF guys not only have great websites, but their customer service is unparalled. Even with their recent move to Bend, OR, they have not skipped a beat. With their trusty new Iphones in hand they are always available to help. Thanks guys!

I also want to thank Michelle Kersten at GraphiStudio for your support at the workshop. She will have some awesome products on hand for each and every participant.

And - of course we will be featuring some of Marianne Lanting's beautiful gowns during our shoots. Her designs will make the perfect match for the NYC backdrop!

Thanks again to Laura Ann for an amazing video intro!

Over the last six months TJ, Chris + Lynn and I have been working on the REVOLUTION shooting sessions and we're proud to finally announce it! October in NYC is gonna rock!
